Lastly, because complexity increases more quickly than the business itself, I think production support is essential. The number of things that can go wrong grows exponentially as a business adds more clients, features, and servers. The support staff, in my opinion, are the "complexity managers" who prevent the system from crumbling under its own weight. According to this viewpoint, a business cannot grow without expanding its support infrastructure. The support function must become more professional as it grows from a small startup to a multinational corporation. Many businesses, in my opinion, fail because they attempt to expand their user base without making investments in the employees who keep the lights on. By controlling the technical debt that unavoidably builds up during rapid expansion, production support "enables" growth, to use the active voice. It offers the stability required to accommodate a large, worldwide user base in various languages and time zones. In this way, production support is not a "cost center"; rather, it is a fundamental prerequisite for any company hoping to grow to a substantial, worldwide level in the contemporary economy.
